Original Swedish Art Deco sofa, with satin birch arms & legs, dating from around the 1930-50's period. This sofa is very stylish & in great condition. It's just come over from Sweden & has been re-polished & re-upholstered in a taupe coloured fabric. The satin birch is a lovely blond colour, typical of the Art Deco period. These sofas are quite rare. I often have the pairs of matching armchairs, in fact there are probably some on the site right now.

Pair of Antique Carolean Carved Walnut Upholstered Armchairs£1,500.00 + VAT
Very impressive large pair of antique Swedish Carolean style upholstered armchairs in good condition & dating from around the 1890's period. They have high backs & the upholstery is the original cut velvet which is still in good condition. These armchairs have intricate deep carving on the arms, between & on the legs, plus on the feet which are incredibly shaped & carved. There are also barley twist turnings & stretchers between the legs. The seats are fully sprung & the upholstery is hand tacked all over. The fabric is in fantastic condition, especially considering it's over 100 years old & there are no holes or tears.

Pair of Art Deco Swedish Satin Birch Armchairs£2,500.00 + VAT
Fabulous pair of original Swedish Art Deco armchairs that are very comfortable & extremely stylish. As you probably know, I get a lot of these types of chairs from Sweden, but these are not the norm, mainly because of the very wide shaped satin birch arms. The feet too are flared out. They have been French polished & completely re-upholstered in a taupe coloured fabric. They also have fully coil sprung seats, not like the new equivalents, which will only last you 5 years. These will last a lifetime. They date to around the 1930's period & are in good condition throughout.

Antique Chinoiserie Ebonised & Gilt Commode£1,500.00 + VAT
Antique Swedish three drawer commode on Queen Anne legs with the original chinoiserie finish which is still in good condition. There's an exquisite scene on the top & the front. The shaped legs & base have plenty of gilt decoration, which is also nicely aged. This commode is in good condition & we have a key for the drawers. it dates to around the 1890-1910 period.

Antique Swedish Biedermeier Secretaire Desk / Bureau£1,750.00 + VAT
This antique Swedish Biedermeier secrétaire is in good condition & full of character. It has many interesting features, especially the busy interior & I would date it to around the 1860's period. The wood is predominately satin birch with ebonised columns on the sides. This secrétaire has one drawer at the top & three more below the fall. The top drawer & the drop flap are inlaid around the edges. The top section has a concave shape & this piece sits on sabre legs. The satin birch has a wonderful grain & the brass handle escutcheons are original too. The inside of the writing section is stunning, with many different sized drawers & cupboards. Antique French Gilt Wood Stool£675.00 + VAT
This large antique gilt wood upholstered stool is in good condition with the original gilding still in place. The gilding does have a bit of wear here & there, but that only adds to the character. Please enlarge all the images to see the finish & all the fine carved details on the frame. We have just had this stool re-upholstered in a cream fabric. This stool has a great shape with two sides conceived & two sides serpentine shaped. I would date it to around the 1850-70’s period, although it might be older.

Large Antique French Marble Top Coffee Table£750.00 + VAT
Fine quality French antique large round coffee table, with the original marble top & in excellent condition. It has a pierced gilt metal gallery on the top edge & gilt metal mounts & feet. The gilding is naturally aged, so has great character. The wood is mahogany & it's all been polished. I would date this piece to around the 1910 period, or it may even be a bit older. The top section is very heavy & just sits on the base. These coffee tables are quite hard to find this large & especially of the quality of this one.

Antique Victorian Inlaid Walnut Credenza£1,500.00 + VAT
Antique Victorian figured walnut credenza in good original condition, with fine inlays & gilt bronze mounts. There are a lot of fine inlays all along the top, down the front sides & loads more on the central panelled door. There are two gilt metal trims all around the top front edge, more on the middle door & gilt mounts either side of the middle door. The side doors have bowed glass & inside the original lining is still in good condition. However, behind the middle door the lining is not in good condition (see images), but we are in the process of relining it, so that will look much better. This impressive piece is priced really well.

Antique Victorian Leather Conversation Sofa£2,500.00 + VAT
This antique Victorian deep buttoned leather conversation sofa is in good original condition. The leather has a wonderful tan colour & is naturally distressed, with normal fading that would be expected for a piece of this age. There are no splits, holes or tears & you can feel the crisp horsehair underneath the upholstery. The upholstery is all hand tacked onto the frame. This sofa sits on turned mahogany legs with original casters. I've had a few of these models in the past, but never had one with the original leather. We haven't done any work to this piece & it's just as it came out of a private residence in London. The previous owner had it in the family for a long time. I'm not sure what these were used for originally, but I should think they could have been used in hotels lobbies, art galleries or museums. This piece dates to around the 1840-60's period.

Antique Burr Walnut Serpentine Fronted Chest of Chest Tallboy£1,450.00 + VAT
High quality antique chest on chest with a burr walnut serpentine front & figured walnut sides. The top cornice has a dental moulding below. The drawer fronts are cross banded & all the drawers have locks & original brass handles. There is a pull out sliding shelf in the middle & it sits on splayed feet. This chest comes apart into two sections for easy transportation. It's in excellent original condition & has a rich colour. I would date it to around the 1890-1910 period.

Antique Burr Walnut Cocktail Drinks Cabinet£1,450.00 + VAT
This antique walnut drinks cabinet is wonderful quality & a great looking piece with some amazing details. The upper section has a well shaped top, with two burr walnut doors & figured walnut sides. The figuring one the wood is stunning & the colour is great too. It has etched brass escutcheons & hinges. The inside of this cabinet is beautifully fitted out with partitioning, shelves & mirrors. The inside is also lined with sycamore which is also polished & in great condition too. This top section can be lifted of the base for easy transportation. The base is solid walnut & is hand carved all over. Please check out the heads which are carved out on all four corners & also the hairy paw feet. No expense was spared in making this cabinet & it must have been made for an important person. It has just been French polished on the outside & is in 1st class condition. This cocktail cabinet dates from the 1920's period.

Stunning set of antique Swedish Satin Birch Biedermeier chairs in excellent condition, having just been polished & re-upholstered. I've had many similar pairs of the armchairs like these, but rarely had the matching four chairs. The pair of armchairs could be used separately & the four matching chairs could be put around a small dining table. The chairs have a beautiful grain in the satin birch & they have some nice ebonised features. They have bold Trafalgar backs & sabre legs. These chairs date from around the 1890-1910 period.
