It has a sharp double pediment on the top & single astral glazed door below with two glass shelves inside. The fall front is flame mahogany & cross banded. The drawers are graduated in depth & have brass handles. Behind the fall front is a lovely interior with drawers, pigeon holes, a cupboard & a tooled leather writing surface. There are two manual loafers that support the writing surface. This bureau bookcase comes apart into two sections for easy transportation.

It has double arched astral-glazed doors, with adjustable bookshelves inside. The writing section has a fine array of small drawers, a cupboard & pigeon holes, plus a tooled leather writing surface. Below that are four drawers with original pierced brass handles & it sits on bracket feet. The front of this piece is mainly flame mahogany, with some cross banding around the writing flap. This bureau bookcase is very fine quality & it comes apart into two sections for easy transportation.

It also has brass corner fittings & inset brass military handles on the drawers. The top drawer pulls out to reveal a secretaire writing compartment inside, with two small drawers, a central cupboard, pigeon holes & a tooled leather writing surface. This chest sits on bracket feet. It dates from around the 1950's period.

out of stock Antique Swedish Biedermeier Satin Birch Secretaire Chest
£2,200.00 + VATThis antique Swedish Biedermeier satin birch secrétaire chest has a wonderful original blond colour & it has one of the nicest interiors I've ever seen. I would date it to around the 1850-60's period & it's in excellent original condition. When checking out the exceptional interior behind the flap, please bear in mind that while you can see an image of all the drawers & cupboards open, there is one more secret drawer at the bottom of the interior. It's the larger shaped one without handles & this can be pulled out when the cupboard is open. All the handles on the interior drawers look like bone, but I can't be sure & all the drawers have fine dovetails. This secretaire chest is very fine quality throughout & very heavy too. It has a stepped up top & sits on bracket feet. There are many other fine details, so please enlarge all the images.

£950.00 + VATThis yew wood secrétaire bookcase has some nice features & is in the campaign military style. It's in excellent condition, dating from around the 1950's period & comes apart into two sections. In fact the bookcase section just sits on the base section without any screw fittings. We have completely re-polished this piece, so the top of the base section under the bookcase base is finished off nicely. The bookcase has adjustable shelves inside & there is a lock & key. The bottom section consists of a secretaire desk compartment with three drawers below. The secretaire compartment is fitted out with small drawers, pigeon holes & a tooled leather writing surface. In keeping with the military theme, there are brass corner pieces all down both sides, brass carrying handles top & bottom, plus the inset brass drawer handles are military style too.

The front section is a very strongly patterned flame mahogany. The top has a dental cornice, with two astral-glazed doors below & adjustable bookshelves inside on built in grooved supports. The cross banded fall opens down & is supported by two pull out loafers. The writing section inside is stunning with a stepped interior of shaped drawers, pigeon holes & a central cupboard. The tooled leather writing surface looks like it could be original & has a wonderful colour. All the drawers have original locks, brass handles & fine dovetails. It sits on bracket feet & it separates into two pieces for easy transportation. This bureau bookcase has lovely small proportions, plus a great colour & patina. I just need to take another look at it, because I can't work out yet if it's 19th or 18th century.

£1,950.00 + VATVery impressive & high quality antique burr walnut bureau bookcase, dating from the 1910 period & in good original condition. Please enlarge all the images to appreciate all the amazing features. This piece is a real character item with a good original colour. It has a dome top, with two burr walnut astral-glazed doors & there are adjustable shelves inside. The burr walnut pull down slope has herring bone inlays with cross banding outside of that. The drawers also have herring bone inlays around the edges & that have the original brass handles that are naturally aged. The drawers are finely dovetailed & this bureau bookcase sits on bold bracket feet. There are two pull out loafers which support the writing slope when open. The compartment inside is magnificent, with shaped small drawers, dividers, pigeon holes & a single cupboard in the middle. I can't stress to high the quality of this item. It's a heavy piece, but does come apart into two sections. This bureau bookcase is about 100 years old & is a very good copy of an original Queen Anne piece from the 1700's.

The bottom section has a cross banded slope, four drawers with original brass handles, reeded edges & it sits on bracket feet. When the slope is down, there is a tooled leather writing surface, pigeon holes, two small drawers & a double shutter middle compartment. This bureau bookcase has a lovely warm colour & great figuring to the wood.
