Following a very respectable edition of the 27th Winter Olympia Fine Art & Antiques Fair from 31 October – 5 November 2017, owners Clarion have announced that this would be the final event in its current format and have put the future of the event up for discussion following the decision to expand the mighty consumer event Spirit of Christmas into the National Hall, the existing Winter Olympia show space.
Fair Director Mary Claire Boyd told Antiques News & Fairs: “… there is however, an option to run a new version of the fair on the gallery level of the National Hall. The Clarion owned show, Spirit of Christmaswill take the downstairs space so the new show would be incorporated into this but with its own entrance. If there is enough interest from the dealers we will run an adapted version of the Winter fair on the gallery level, with a reduced stand build to keep the costs down.”
The Art & Antiques Fair Olympia, the flagship June fair, will continue to run annually. The 2018 event will run from 20th – 27th June but will be combining forces with the House & Garden Festival to create London’s largest luxury arts and interiors event.
This innovative show will now include House, GROW London and Spirit of Summer, as well as The Art & Antiques Fair Olympia, to create one cohesive event. The individual elements will be distinct but very much complementary. The Art & Antiques Fair Olympia will run for three extra days outside the festival to continue the overlap with Masterpiece which will allow the international buyers to attend.
