This antique Cellaret is an original period item of furniture made around the 1790’s period & it looks like a colonial item (Anglo-Indian). It’s a Campaign piece & is all original except that the inside dividers are more recent. These items were made to made to store bottles of alcoholic beverages such as wine & whisky. The construction is of solid teak with all the original brass corner fittings & inset carrying handles. It comprises of the square box section, which just sits on to of the original base. This Cellaret has a wonderful original colour & patina, both on the wood & brass work, so it’s full of character. It’s also a very rare item, being a campaign military piece. Also the condition is excellent for an item over 200 years old.
