This antique Victorian mahogany & cane folding chair could have been made for use as a picnic or campaign chair. Either way, it was definitely made for travelling purposes. It's beautifully made too, with the handle carved into the top of the frame. The wood has a lovely patina & the cane is original, plus without damage. This isn't one of those flimsily made examples that you often see. It's very well made & use-able. I'd date it to around the 1860-80's period.
