Very impressive pair of high quality antique French style marble top cabinets in excellent condition, having just been French polished & dating to around the 1930's period. They are kingwood & burr walnut, with some satinwood inlays & wonderful use of patterned veneers. The gilt bronze mounts are spectacular, especially the large classical ones on the top of the canted corners. The burr walnut door panels have heavy bronze plaques cast with classical scenes & are surrounded by more gilt bronze. There is also a single drawer at the top. The sides have burr walnut panels surrounded by kingwood & the shaped base is also beautifully decorated. To find one of these cabinets of this quality & condition is hard enough, but to find an exact pair together is very rare. The only slight difference is the way the insides are fitted out. The marble tops are matching & perfect. Please enlarge all the images to see all the amazing details. These cabinets came out of a private London residence & had been in the family for a long time.
