Very impressive antique walnut cabinet on stand, which could be used as a drinks cabinet or even a TV cabinet. The top section is a combination of burr & figured walnut & the patterns especially on the front doors are very strong. The doors have beautiful etched brass hinges & escutcheons. The inside has been smartened up a bit, with a single adjustable shelf. This top section can be just lifted off the base for easy transportation. The bottom section has a carved gadrooned edge & two drawers below with original brass handles. It has three bulbous legs on the front with nice turnings & bun feet which are joined up with hand carved stretchers near the base. There are also turned stretchers in between the front & back legs. This cabinet is a high quality piece of furniture, which I would date to around the 1910 period & is in excellent condition. Whoever made this item had a very good eye for detail. See how they have cut away near the base of the back legs, to enable this cabinet to clear the skirting boards & so sit close to the wall.
