This antique French rosewood cabinet is very impressive & has some lovely classical gilt bronze mounts, including the Sphinx heads on the sides & the lions drinking out of the urn. It’s rosewood all over & the grain pattern is very vivid. This cabinet is Empire style & is in excellent condition, including the original marble top. The rosewood veneers have been used in a clever way, especially around the door panels & the cross banding on the two drawers. I particularly like the design of the drawer handles. The inside of this piece is nicely fitted out & polished too. The whole item oozes quality & I would date it to around the 1920’s period.
