Antique Victorian mahogany partners pedestal desk, dating from the 1840-60 period & in good condition. These type of desks are getting very hard to find these days & this one is a very nice example. The tooled leather writing surface was on this desk when we obtained it, so it's old & maybe original. It certainly has plenty of character & good colour. All the drawers have locks & turned mahogany bun handles. The cupboards on the back are panelled & also have locks. This desk is set up with all the drawers on the front. However, some people prefer to set them up with one cupboard & one set of drawers on the front & the back. So, it can be reversed. The mahogany has a very rich grain. This desk lifts apart into three sections, with the top section just lifting off, leaving the two pedestals. The pedestals sit on plinth bases & there are casters under the plinths so the desk can be moved around easily.
