This large antique walnut chest of drawers is a great looking piece of furniture & also top quality throughout. It's Swedish, from around the 1880's period & has all the original features. It has a shaped top edge, panels, corbels & reeding on the front sides & sits on turned bun feet. The run of drawers are burr walnut, with the beautiful pattern running through all of them. The brass handles are top quality & the drawers are nicely dovetailed. The right hand bar is on a hinge & locks all the drawers in place when closed. These chests are normally known as 'Wellington Chests' & they usually have seven drawers with the locking bar. This chest is in excellent condition & is of extremely solid construction.
