A stunning pair of vintage rosewood side chests with an amazing and quite unusual design. These were made in England, they date from around the 1960’s & they are slightly military campaign style with the brass corner fittings.

The quality is amazing, with beautiful rosewood grain patterns throughout and brass lions head handles. They are a very useful size, and are finished on the backs with dummy drawers, so are designed to be free standing.

There are two drawers but only the lower drawer has a handle, which is strange as the lower drawers must be opened before the top drawer can be opened. This may be so that the chest doesn’t topple over with the top drawer open, as they have an overhanging design and deep drawers that can pull out quite far.

We have had these recently re-polished, they are in excellent condition for their age.
