Very smart antique Edwardian Sheraton style mahogany bookcase dating from the 1890-1900 period & in excellent original condition.
It’s made in two sections, with the astral-glazed upper part having adjustable bookshelves on sharks tooth supports & the bottom part being deeper with one shelf inside. There is also a brass vertical beading that sits between each pair of doors. That feature is always a sign of good quality, which this bookcase is.
There are many fine satinwood inlays below the pronounced cornice, around the top section, around the bottom door & particularly on the flame mahogany door panels. The bottom plinth is also inlaid & sits on ogee bracket feet.
This bookcase separates into two pieces for easy transportation & we have the keys for both locks.
