A small proportioned beautiful and unusual antique Georgian mahogany bookcase. This was made in England, it dates from around the 1790 period.
It has an interesting and useful design, and is of superb quality. This is of fairly small proportions, the two large astral glazed doors open to reveal an inner bank of drawers, two adjustable shelves and a mirrored back. The central three internal drawers are actually one deep drawer with dividers for bottles, so this could be just as much a drinks cabinet as a bookcase. There are two further generous drawers in the bottom, this sits on bracket feet and has a gently domed top.
We have had this re-polished, the condition is excellent for its age, with a gorgeous colour tone and patina. The top section lifts of the bottom and this comes in two pieces for ease of transport.
Please check the measurements, because it’s smaller than it looks.
