A grand and impressive antique Victorian breakfront library bookcase in mahogany. This was made in England, it dates from the 1860-1880 period.
It is very rare to find this model from the period, it is a great size and is of super quality. The mahogany has a gorgeous colour tone and patina, with lovely grain patterns. The upper glazed section contains nine adjustable shelves, with a further three shelves in the lower section. This has lots of storage space throughout and keys that work for all the doors. I particularly like the fielded bottom door panels.
We have had this recently re-polished, it in in excellent condition for its age. There is just some light wear beneath the polish here and there, commensurate for age.
The cornice lifts off and the top section then comes apart in a further three pieces for ease of transport. The three sections of the top must be screwed together and to the base for safety, screws will be supplied.
