An excellent antique Victorian period open bookcase in mahogany. This was made in England, it dates from around the 1860-1880’s period.
It is very well made with a lovely breakfront design. This sits on a plinth base and has beautifully carved corbels on the upper and lower corners. The shelves are all adjustable, this contains plenty of storage space for many books.
We have just had this re-polished, it is in fantastic condition for its age. There are various small marks and indentations here and there beneath the polish, commensurate for age and adding to the lovely patina.
Please note – This is an original Victorian Bookcase, so don’t confuse this with the many made up & adapted bookcases made from old wardrobes, etc, being sold on various other sites.
