Antique Victorian Mahogany Two Door Bookcase

This antique late Victorian mahogany bookcase is very fine quality and quite narrow from front to back.

It’s in very good original condition & dates from the 1890-1900 period.

The doors & central beading are reeded & the top of this bookcase has a shaped gallery. There are two adjustable bookshelves inside & it sits on a plinth base.

When empty, this bookcase will tip forward when doors are open, that’s why there are brackets on the sides so it can be screwed to the wall. I believe that once there are plenty of books inside, their weight will stop it tipping forward.

Width – 53 inches, 134 cm
Depth – 10 inches, 26 cm
Height – 43 inches, 110 cm
