This large antique walnut breakfront bookcase is of extremely high quality & is a great looking piece of furniture. It has a wonderful original mellow colour & is full of character. The interior of the glazed section has the original paintwork which has mellowed like the outside. There’s a swan neck pediment on the top with a parcel gilt motif in the middle. There are four astral glazed doors on the top section, with walnut mouldings & inside are adjustable shelves. The bottom section has four cross banded cupboards & a single drawer finely dovetailed & with original brass handles. There is an original metal label showing the sellers being ‘Harvey Nichols & Co Ltd’ of Knightsbridge on the inside of the drawer. This bookcase dates from around the 1910-20’s period & it’s in very good original condition. It separates into two sections, with the glazed section lifting off the base.
