A superb & long antique Victorian solid oak bookcase of the highest order. This was made in England, it dates from around the 1880-1890’s period.
The quality is absolutely amazing, this is large, extremely well made and very heavy. The shelves are precisely made to slot into shark teeth supports & they are all adjustable. The bookcase front edges are shaped in the manner of neoclassical columns, and the two central columns open with secret brass buttons to reveal hidden cupboard space. A very fine and unusual feature!
This offers lots of storage space and is not too deep from front to back. We have recently had this re-polished, the condition is excellent throughout, with a beautiful colour and patina.
