A very fine antique early Victorian burr walnut chest of drawers made James Shoolbred who was one of the finest Victorian London cabinet makers. It’s in total original excellent condition & has a wonderful colour, patina & pattern to the burr walnut. The ‘James Shoolbred’ label is on the back & his name is also stamped on the top of the right hand drawer. You can see these in the images. The drawers are graduated in depth & the bottom one is extra deep, because it’s attached to the plinth base. They have stunning original handles, original locks & very fine dovetails. This chest is quite a rare item, especially in such good original condition & I haven’t seen one as nice as this.
