A very large and impressive William IV period solid mahogany chest of drawers. This is of extremely high quality & it dates from around the 1835-40 period. It was made by the London cabinet maker Richard Loader 23 Finsbury Pavement, London who was a cabinet maker, chair maker, papier m?ch? maker, and looking-glass manufacturer (1837?40) The original paper label which was stuck on the 2nd drawer down is still there but quite worn.
The quality is amazing, and this is a great size, offering tons of storage space. The lower drawer is built into the plinth base, so is extremely deep. All the drawers are graduated in depth, with fine dovetails & original handles.
This has a gorgeous colour and stunning patina. We have recently had this French polished & it is in excellent condition for its age. There is some minor wear and old marks that remain beneath the polish, commensurate for age.
