An exquisite tall, slim antique marble top chest with a concave front & canted corners, beautifully made from a combination of woods. This was made in France & I would date it from around the 1910-20’s period.
The quality is absolutely superb, it is wonderfully constructed and is a very useful size. This is predominantly kingwood, with elm and satin wood inlays around all edges. It is beautifully made with solid gilt bronze mounts and original handles. The drawers have fine dovetailed joints, and the loose marble top that sits on top is also stunning.
The condition is excellent for it age, we have recently had this re-polished to a very high standard. The marble top has a bit of wear around the edges, nothing that affects the strength or overall look.
There is many fine detail all over this chest & the figuring in the woods are amazing, so please enlarge all the images to really appreciate it.
