An excellent pair of antique military campaign style bedside chests in yew wood. They were made in England, and date from around the 1950’s.

These are beautifully made and are a very useful size, with lots of storage space. The yew wood has stunning grain patterns and a gorgeous colour tone. The brass hardware is of excellent quality, and offsets the yew wood nicely. The backs are also polished and finished in lovely yew wood, so they can be used as free standing items.

On closer inspection, one can see that the handles are a bit different on each chest. Maybe that’s how they were made, or how the previous owner bought them. I only just noticed.

We have had these recently re-polished, the condition is excellent for their age.
