Fine quality antique Chippendale style leather top mahogany desk dating from around the 1900-1910 period & in excellent condition. It has a hand coloured tooled leather writing surface with a gadrooned edge going all the way around. This desk has a finished polished back & a serpentine shaped front. It has canted corners, flame mahogany drawer fronts & sits on solid mahogany carved legs with ball & claw feet. The drawers have original brass handles, locks & fine dovetails. The carving is very crisp & the kneehole height is generous. This is a purpose made desk & not one of those many dressing tables that have been converted into desks.
