An excellent antique Victorian period pedestal desk in mahogany. this dates from around 1860-1880.
It is very well made, with an inset leather top, lovely turned handles and a plinth base on brass casters. The drawers which are graduated in depth, have fine dovetails & locks.
It is finished all around so can be used free standing in the centre of a room, and it breaks down into three pieces for transport.
We have had this French polished, and the leather has been hand coloured and gold tooled. It is in great condition for its age, with minor marks and wear to be seen under the polish, commensurate for age.
This desk has a generous width kneehole & plenty of working space on top.
