A fantastic original antique Victorian period desk in mahogany, dating from the 1880-1900 period.
This is very well made and of excellent quality. It sits on a plinth base with concealed casters, and has simple but beautiful solid brass handles. It is finished nicely on all sides so can be used as a free standing item, and this breaks down into three pieces for ease of transport.
The leather is hand coloured and gold tooled, we have had this desk completely re-polished, so the condition is excellent for its age.
The drawers are finely dovetailed & all have locks. This desk has loads of character, including the leather writing surface. It’s what I call a good medium size, with a generous kneehole space & plenty of work area.
