An absolutely stunning antique French ormolu mounted escritoire writing bureau, dating from around the 1890-1910 period.

It is of outstanding quality, with beautiful hand painted imagery on the cylindrical top. There are high quality ormolu mounts throughout, this has a clever design whereby the top rolls back when the drawer is pulled out. Once the drawer is pulled out, you can unfold the velvet writing surface. There is a good amount of work space and storage space, this is practical as well as very beautiful. The back is also nicely finished, so this can be used as a free standing item.

We have had this recently re-polished, the condition is superb throughout for its age.
