A superb antique Victorian burr walnut writing table / desk. This was made in England , it dates from around the 1840-1860 period.
The quality is outstanding, this is as fine a writing table of the period as you could find. The burr walnut grain patterns are absolutely stunning, this stands on very bold fluted legs terminating in porcelain casters. There are tow drawers with fine, hand cut dovetailed joints and beautifully turned walnut handles. The back of the desk is nicely finished, so this can be used as a free standing item.
The condition is excellent for its age, we have just had this re-polished. The leather top has also been replaced with a hand coloured and tooled faded black leather.
