A smart and very well made antique Victorian pedestal desk in mahogany. This was made in England, it dates from the 1870-1890 period.
It is very well made and is a useful size. The green inset leather top is hand coloured and gold tooled, the mahogany carcass has a lovely colour tone and patina. The pedestals sit on plinth bases with casters underneath. There are high quality brass handles, and back is nicely finished so this can be used as a free standing item.
We have just had this re-polished, the condition is excellent for its age. There are various very small marks and bumps remaining here and there beneath the polish, commensurate for age. The top lifts off, and this breaks down into three pieces for ease of transport.
