A charming antique Victorian mahogany leather top writing table / desk. This was made in England, it dates from around the 1850-1870 period.

It is very well made and is a lovely, compact size. It sits on beautifully turned solid turned mahogany legs, the drawers have lovely turned mahogany handles. The drawers have fine hand cut dovetailed joints, the top edges are nicely moulded and this has a gorgeous inset leather top that has been hand coloured and gold tooled. The back is also nicely finished, so this can be used as a free standing item.

We have had this recently re-polished, it is in excellent condition for its age. There are some small marks and indentations beneath the polish, commensurate for age and adding to the lovely patina.
