A very smart and well made antique Victorian Walnut leather top pedestal desk. This was made in England, it dates from around 1860-80’s.
It is of lovely quality and is a useful size, with a generous kneehole and plenty of storage space within. There is an inset leather top which is hand coloured and tooled around the edges. The drawers have turned walnut handles and nicely dovetailed joints. The pedestals sit on plinth bases, with casters underneath, so this can be rolled around. The back is also nicely finished, so this can be used as a free standing item.
We have recently had this re-polished, the condition is very good for its age. There are some small marks and bumps beneath the polish, giving this a great overall patina, commensurate for age.
The top lifts off and this breaks down into three pieces for ease of transport.
