A superb antique leather top desk made from a combination of mahogany and burr walnut. This was made in England, it dates from around the 1900-1920 period.
It is a fantastic size and is of wonderful quality. The carcass is mahogany, with the front edges inlaid in a beautiful geometric pattern. The drawer fronts are fiddleback mahogany inlaid with stunning burr walnut. The handles are also of fine quality and are beautifully fashioned from brass.
This sits on eight legs, with a gorgeous inset leather top. The back is also nicely polished, so this can be used as a free standing item.
We have had this recently re-polished, the condition is excellent for its age. A colourful makers mark is seen on the inside of the drawer, it was made in the City of Bath.
