A smart and extremely well made antique William IV mahogany writing table / desk. This was made in England, it dates from around the 1830-1850 period.
It is of superb quality and has a useful design. The mahogany has a gorgeous colour tone and patina. The top has a raised back gallery and a lovely tooled leather writing surface. The drawers on the front open smoothly and have very fine, hand cut dovetailed joints. The legs are connected by a bold and beautifully turned stretchered base.
We have had this revived and re-polished, the condition is lovely for its age. There are various small marks here and there beneath the polish, it has a deep and characterful patina, commensurate for age.
