An excellent antique early Victorian leather top pedestal desk in mahogany, with a generous kneehole space. This was made in England & dates from around the 1840-1860’s.
It is a large and impressive size, the quality is magnificent. The inset leather top is gold tooled and hand coloured, this has nine very deep and generous drawers with high quality brass handles. The pedestals sit on plinth bases and have original casters beneath. The back is nicely polished as well, so this can be used as a free standing item.
We have recently had this re-polished, the condition is excellent for its age. There are just some old small marks remaining here and there beneath the polish, with a fabulous overall patina. The top lifts off the pedestals and this breaks down into three pieces for ease of transport.
