Antique Swedish neoclassical design display cabinet with inlays, marquetry & many gilt metal mounts. This is a fine quality piece of furniture, in good condition & dating roughly to around the 1930’s period. There is a slim drawer on the top, a display section below & a pull down flap at the bottom revealing six slim drawers. The wood inside the bottom unit looks like rosewood & walnut, plus there are other more exotic woods within the inlays & marquetry. The outside is mainly kingwood & rosewood, plus many other woods within the marquetry panel. The inside of the back is nicely polished & there is a light inside too, which would need rewiring for safe use. I believe the back was reversed sometime ago, because there is some old baize fabric still on there, which doesn’t look pretty, but is out of site & in one way is practicable, because it won’t scratch your walls.
