This antique mahogany wardrobe is quite unusual because it has astral-glazing within the doors. The glass looks really old & you can see the ripples & bubbles on it. I think this wardrobe could be Georgian, looking at the construction & glass, but I can’t be certain, so maybe it’s late Victorian. Lets say 1890 to be safe.
This wardrobe is solid mahogany & has satinwood inlays & kingwood or tulip wood bandings. The top has a dental moulding, there’s brass beading between the doors & it sits on bracket feet. There’s a brass bar inside with brass hooks attached for hanging clothes on & more brass hooks behind. It looks like the attachment for the bar has been moved down, so there is now room for shelf to be put on top. It’s very well made & very heavy. Could work in a bedroom or be used as a hall cupboard for coats, etc.
