A wonderful pair of antique oil paintings in original gilt frames. These are most likely English and date from the mid-19th century.

They depict a man and a woman, as they were evidently made at the same time and framed together, so they are most likely related.

They are beautifully executed, the condition is fair but could benefit from some restoration. They have a few small areas of damage to the canvass, and the frames are also a little distressed in places. If these were professionally cleaned, the colour & details will be a lot more prominent.
