Reconstructed Antique Victorian Walnut Open Bookcase
This is one of our reconstructed bookcases that we have just made. In fact one of my clients ordered three different individual open bookcases together, one of them I thought was a really useful design, so we had it copied & this is it. This one is for sale & can be brought to the shop, for people who want to see a sample of our work. Remember any design or wood can be ordered. This particular bookcase is figured walnut, hand polished, with the usual 'sharks tooth' supports for adjustable shelving. The central partition gives the shelves more stability & both sides can be adjusted at different heights. It's beautifully made by a master cabinet maker in the antique Victorian style, re-constructed from other antique items of furniture. If you are looking at this on eBay, please remember that it may not be for this exact piece, because that may be sold, so they take about 3 weeks to make & being a hand made individual item, the figuring on the wood will always be a bit different. Also, you can have them made in any type of wood you like. Please contact me direct before buying (e-mail & phone numbers at the bottom of my site), so this way I can be sure to satisfy your individual requirements. Antique Hard to Find Victorian Burr Walnut Open Bookcase
This antique burr walnut bookcase has been re-constructed from a large Victorian burr walnut wardrobe & in fact we have made two identical bookcases out of this wardrobe. I have based the design on similar ones I’ve had in the past which seemed to be very popular, but this bookcase is very unique because of the quality of the walnut & there will only be these two available. We do make similar designs of bookcases all the time mainly to order, but not all the wood will be antique, because many people are working to budget. The construction is always first class & to be honest, normally better than original antique bookcases, because they are always hand made by a master cabinet maker. The adjustable shelves have shark teeth supports & the shelves all have burr walnut lipping. Please enlarge all of the images to appreciate these one off bookcases. I must also stress that these will be very hard to repeat, because of the difficulty in sourcing the correct antique pieces that will suit the conversions.

Antique Re-Constructed Burr Walnut Open Bookcase
This bookcase has been reconstructed from antique wardrobes, pianos, etc.
Antique Victorian reconstructed burr walnut open bookcase, in good condition & of lovely proportions. This piece has been reconstructed using old wood where possible & top quality European burr walnut veneers. It has all the features of the Victorian models, with the shark teeth supports for the adjustable shelves, carved corbels, a plinth base & a bold detachable cornice. It has all been French Polished & has lots of character. The main difference between this one & all the previous ones we have made, is the inside. The inside back & sides have been veneered in figured walnut & polished. This is a far more expensive way of doing them, because we usually have the insides just stained like the Victorian ones were. I thought this would look much smarter & could be used for other things besides books. Also, it's large than the previous ones.

Antique Victorian Mahogany Open Bookcase
This re-constructed antique mahogany bookcase has just been made to order for the CEO of Christies.
They had one made by us about 5 years ago & wanted another one to match for the same room. It’s been made to the same high quality standard as all our bespoke bookcases & the cabinet maker has used some antique mahogany in certain places to give it more character. The shelves are all adjustable on shark teeth supports & they have mahogany edges. It separates into 4 sections, top cornice, two middle sections & the plinth. As always these can be made to any size & adapted to any style you like. They can be all polished inside which looks very smart & can be done in most woods too. We normally tend to use new & old woods, because that’s the most cost effective way, however they can be made entirely out of new woods or mainly out of old woods, depending on your requirements & budgets. Please note this one is sold, but if you wish to order a similar of different model, they take about 4 weeks to make & polish. We normally have one or two examples of bespoke bookcases in our showroom, so you can get an idea of the quality.Width – 48″, 122 cm

Pair of Antique Chippendale Style Leather Wing Armchairs (Customizable Upon Request)
£2,250.00 + VATVery comfortable pair of antique Chippendale style leather wing armchairs. They have been completely re-upholstered with coil springs, feather cushions, while the leather has been hand coloured & antiqued. These armchairs have generous proportions & sit on mahogany legs with cross stretchers, which give them more stability. Please don’t confuse these with the mass produced pre-dyed models out there. These are full of character, will last a lifetime & the finish on the leather will improve with age. I have just bought a load of these wing chairs from a large hotel chain who were refurbishing, so I have many more pairs in store, ready to polish & re-upholster. There is one more pair on my web site that are a different colour & not deep buttoned. However, I have many more waiting to be covered in any colour or format needed. If you want them with basic hand colouring without the leather being antiqued, they can be bought for about £400 less. Personally, I think it’s worth going the extra mile with these, because they look antique, with loads of character & the colour will improve with age. All the models are hand tacked & have coil springs inside, so they will last a lifetime. It’s important that you enlarge all the images to appreciate the detail & colouring. This pair are a kind of chestnut colour. The other pair on the web site are more of a cognac colour.
