An incredibly beautiful antique French gilt wood chaise longue, we would date this to around the 1850-1870 period, possibly even earlier.

It is of exceptional quality and is a lovely petite size. There is stunning, crisp and intricate carving throughout with some wonderful patterns. There is floral carving on the back rest, acanthus leaf carving on the front of the arms and scrolled carved armrests. The legs are beautifully turned with spiral carving, this has beautiful features everywhere you look.

The gilt finish has a lovely patina with just the right amount of wear, there is no damage to the frame. This had been re-upholstered by the previous owner in this beautiful high quality green damask fabric, which is in great condition with just one or two very light marks here and there. Overall this presents beautifully and is in great condition. It comes with two small cushions in the same fabric.
