A wonderful original Victorian period spoon back armchair in mahogany. This was made in England, it dates from around the 1860-1880’s.
It is of fantastic quality, with fine and intricate carving all over the frame. This has plenty of character and charm, the wood has a gorgeous patina. It is upholstered in vintage burgundy fabric which feels like a crushed velvet & is in nice condition for its age, with some minor surface wear. The back upholstery is deep buttoned & it feels like the original innards under the upholstery.
The frame is nicely polished and in very good overall condition, it sits on cabriole legs with original white porcelain casters.
