An absolutely stunning antique armchair in solid mahogany. This was made in England & dates from around the 1890-1900 period.

The quality is amazing, this has exquisite carving throughout, beautifully accentuated with parcel-gilt. The carving is crisp and intricate, unusually the back side of the back rest is also beautifully carved and gilded.

A particularly fine feature is a perfectly formed rose head on the front and back of the backrest, seen in the
close up images.

This sits on cabriole legs and has wonderful scrolled arm rests.

We have recently had this re-polished to a very high standard, and the drop in seat has been re-upholstered in a beautiful cream fabric. This is in superb overall condition for its age.
