This antique Victorian high back armchair has a very high back, which is hard to visualise in the images, so double check the measurements. It has a very grand, almost throne like look & could have been used for something ceremonial.
This chair is upholstered in the original velvet fabric, which is still not in too bad a condition, considering the age. There’s a slight bit of wear on the arm front edges, on the braiding. The braid & fringes are also original. It has wheels & a loose seat cushion.
This is a very impressive looking chair which has a Medieval look, would be a real talking point in one’s home or could make a great film prop. I would date it to around the 1860 period.
