These are one of the nicest pairs of Swedish antique Biedermeier armchairs I've had. The wood is satin birch & is a wonderful blond colour. They have Trafalgar backs, scroll over arms, wide newly upholstered seats & sit on sabre legs. There is a fine carved ebonised carving attached to the back & ebonised borbells on top of the legs. These armchairs are Biedermeier or Empire style & date from around the 1890's period or possibly earlier. They have just come over from Sweden, been French polished & re-upholstered, so are in excellent condition.
