A stunning pair of antique carved walnut armchairs. These were made in England & I would date them from around the 1880-1900 period, although they maybe older. I say that, because the quality of carvings & proportions make me think they could be Georgian period.
The quality is outstanding, these have an absolutely gorgeous and extremely impressive design. The arms are beautifully carved with a sweeping and curvaceous shape. The cabriole legs are also very bold and finely carved. The details on these are quite spectacular, they are very sturdy, generous in proportions and comfortable too.
We have had the frames re-polished and they have been re-upholstered in our cream cotton fabric. The original horse hair stuffing is still intact inside.
