A beautiful and elegant pair of antique Edwardian armchairs in mahogany. They were made in England, and date from around 1890-1910.
They are a matched pair, clearly made by the same maker and almost identical in shape and design. They only have subtle differences to the shapes of the back rests. Both have lovely pierced fretwork with a rosewood central panel, inlaid with various fruit woods. The upper back rests have lovely organic shapes, and compliment each other nicely. There is bordered satin wood inlay around the edges, the armrests flow down uninterrupted to form sabre shaped legs.
We have had these re-polished and fully re-upholstered in a cream cotton fabric, the condition is excellent for their age. There is just some extremely minor wear beneath the polish here and there, with a gorgeous patina and plenty of charm.
