A superb set of ten antique mahogany shield back dining chairs, consisting of eight straight side chairs and two with arms. They were made in England, they date from around the 1920-30’s period.

The quality is outstanding, the tops of the backs have triple curves and exquisite carvings inside the backs, including “Prince of Wales Feathers” and other fine details. The legs are tapered with spade end feet, each chair has four cross stretchers between the legs, which are designed to give the chairs more strength.

We have had the frames re-polished, the drop in seats have been newly upholstered in a cream natural cotton fabric. The condition is excellent for their age, with some minor wear remaining beneath the polish here and there.
