A superb antique Regency period marble top rosewood sideboard. This was made in England, it dates from the 1815-1830 period.
It is extremely well made, with brass grill front doors and very high quality gilt metal mounts, which have beautifully intricate details. It sits on a plinth base, with neoclassical Corinthian style columns running down each side of the front.
It is a very useful size, being quite wide yet very slim from front to back, and contains lots of storage space within. The rosewood grain patterns and colour tones are gorgeous throughout.
The condition is very good for its age, it is beautifully polished and just displays some very minor historical signs of wear here and there. The silk fabric behind the grill front doors has been replaced, so is immaculate. The marble top seems original, it displays some surface wear and patina, but has no major damage.
This comes with keys for the original locks which work on the centre and right door, the lock in the left hand door doesn’t work, however the door does stay completely shut when closed.
