A superb antique writing bureau beautifully made from walnut. This was made in England by the well known high end manufacturer James Shoolbred, it dates from around the 1880-1900 period.
The quality is superb and this has a gorgeous design. The drawers have serpentine shaped fronts, and the upper pull down writing compartment opens to reveal a fantastic walnut interior. There is a lovely inlaid border around the top edge, writing flap and drawer fronts. Beneath the walnut veneer is completely solid oak construction, with fine hand cut dovetailed joints.
We have had this re-polished to a very high standard, the condition is excellent for its age, with loads of character & a wonderful colour.
