A beautiful and extremely well made breakfront bookcase in burr walnut. This was made in England & I would date it from around the 1950-60’s period.
The quality is amazing, this a large and very useful item. The top section has toughened glass adjustable shelves, fabric lined back and has down lighting installed. The astral-glazed glass panels are bevelled. The top cornice has dental mouldings, with a triangular middle pediment & there are reeded columns in-between the doors.
We have recently had this re-polished, it is in great condition for its age, with only some extremely minor wear here and there. This comes apart in two pieces for ease of transport.
This was probably designed more as a display case, though is equally useful as a bookcase & has lots of extra storage behind the base cupboards.
