Fine quality & robust leather top walnut Chippendale style desk in excellent original condition & dating to around the 1910-20’s period.
It has a serpentine shaped front, a gadrooned top edge, fine carvings on the top of the canted corners & hairy paw feet. The top, front & sides are a mixture of burr & figured walnut, while the legs are solid walnut. All the drawers have original brass handles & fine dovetails. The top three drawers have original locks too. There is a useful back lip to stop items falling off & the back of the desk is also polished walnut.
The tooled leather writing surface looks original & has loads of character.
The kneehole space has generous proportions, with decent height & width.
