An outstanding antique figured walnut leather top writing desk. This was made in England, it dates from the 1890-1900 period.

It is of superb quality, there are stunning burr walnut grain patterns, this stands on a stretchered base with harp shaped sides, sabre legs and brass, hairy paw feet. The top has an absolutely gorgeous original inset leather writing surface with tooled edges, the drawers have high quality intricate brass handles. The reverse side is also nicely finished with dummy drawers, so this can be used as a free standing item.

We have had this recently re-polished, there is some minor wear remaining beneath the polish and a fantastic overall patina. The condition is excellent for its age.
